The physical body
The sentence and the “how” are our words; between quotation marks, Her words, with their address.
The physical body is the gross expression of the subtle: each centre shows in it as a plexus, the left and right channels as the sympathetic system, the central channel as the parasympathetic; realisation is felt on the central nervous system; and each of us is like a cell in the body of the Whole, Virata.
how it works
- Centres → plexuses. “These centres are actually subtle centres but they manifest themselves outside as gross plexuses.” (6712·§28, Zurich, 29 September 1980) ; “In the gross, they manifest the plexuses.” (6630·§9, Zurich, 1 May 1980)
- Channels → the autonomic nervous system. “all these chakras, in the body of a human being, are only felt as gross expressions, which we call as ‘plexuses’ in the parasympathetic and sympathetic channels” ; “the sympathetic comes from both the sides and creates the central channel, and that is the parasympathetic” (1026·§15, Bordi, 26 January 1977)
- What we control, what we do not. “But this parasympathetic is not under our control.” (6612·§21, Plymouth, 11 July 1980) ; “Sympathetic is controllable.” (9016·§13, New Delhi, 13 March 1984)
- The central nervous system, where one knows. “Whatever you know on your central nervous system is the knowledge.” (7308·§52, Sydney, 8 May 1987) ; “on central nervous system you can feel the centres of others” (9961·§14, New York, 8 September 1992)
- Virata, the body of the Whole. “you can say you are a cell, you can say that you are like a microcosm related to the macrocosm” (6612·§18) ; “In the Virata's body the brain is the Virata, heart is Sada Shiva and the liver is Brahmadeva” (7235·§22, Chennai, 29 January 1986)
What She does not say
- “Chassis” is our word, not Hers.
- She does not take the doctors' words as God's: “these are your words not of God” (7320·§14, Sydney, 18 March 1983).
- A centre is not a plexus, it manifests one: “for an ordinary human being the chakras are nothing but ordinary plexuses; for a realised soul it is more than that” (1026·§54, Bordi, 26 January 1977).
